As you probably know, there’s a lot that goes into good branding and marketing, but it doesn’t have to be rocket science, nor break the budget. The fundamental principles for achieving success are the same whether you are a small business or a large corporation. Whether you’re selling products, providing services or creating content.

What About Pricing
This is of course the big question and the good news is we are extremely competitive. In fact, we meet or beat anyone else out there, when you compare apples to apples.
We estimate each project from the start based on 30+ years experience and past projects, so you know what to expect. Transparency is a very big deal for us, as we’ve heard too many horror stories from clients where someone else quoted a specific amount, but then all the sudden the invoice comes in for double. That’s not going to happen here.
What if I want to put in my own sweat equity, can you work with my files for printing, etc. Absolutely, yes we can!
Speaking of sweat equity and creating your own files, we’d love to do the creative work for you. It may seem like free labor and a savings, but in reality it often costs you more. For example, let’s say you charge $50 per hour for your services. To create a logo of equal quality to what we would create, you put in 6 hours of work, that’s $300 you could have billed a customer. On average we charge $200 for most logos, so the net result is you lost -$100. Not too mention, you could have written off our work as business expense on your taxes, saving you even more. Just some food for thought.
Ok, ok I get it, but what does stuff actually cost? Here’s what you should expect to pay for some of the most common things you need to brand and market your business. Keep in mind prices will vary based on region, fluctuating industry costs, etc.
Logos
Price varies quite a bit based on complexity. Do you want something text based, an icon or both? In general, you should expect to pay $120-500.
Note, stay away from the $25-50 logo services! At that price it’s clipart at best or at worst, you’ll get a stolen logo and a cease and desist letter in the future. We’ve seen it more than a few times, so beware. You always want something unique and copyrightable.
Business Cards
Design costs are based not only what goes on the card, but also the printing process. For example if you want a foil stamp, that adds complexity and more art time. For standard cards, expect to pay $40-80 for the setup.
Print wise, a standard design on a heavy weight stock (16 point), expect to pay about $50/500 or $70/1000. Note, the more you print the lower the per piece cost. We always recommend 500 minimum.
Brochures
Brochures are pretty straight forward projects that include text and imagery content. For the design side of things you should expect to pay $120-240.
For printing, you have a few options size wise, but going with a standard 8.5×11, full color trifold you can expect $160/250, $220/500 and $260/1000. Note, the more you print the lower the per piece cost. We always recommend 500 minimum for most print projects.
Websites
We are going to focus on having one built, instead of putting in your own sweat equity as time is money (see our note about sweat equity above). Price will vary depending on function and complexity, but a standard website which we like to call an online brochure, should cost you $800-1600. If you need an e-store, be prepared to pay triple that.
Note, don’t forget to factor in web hosting. Though it’s not part of the build cost, it is a yearly expense to keep your site running.
Web Hosting
A good hosting package includes website and email hosting, URL, SSL certificate and quarterly or semi-annual backups with CMS software updates for optimization and security. All together, you should expect to pay $250-400 yearly.
We do offer hosting if you’d like us to handle everything and make it easy or we can help you get setup with a hosting company of your choice. Note, definitely avoid companies like Godaddy and reach out if you need a recommendation.
Other Projects
Hourly rates fluctuate quite a bit, but expect to pay a good quality graphic artist $60-120 per hour. What you are paying for is quality of work, experience, ability to meet your deadlines, and good service.
We bill at $80 per hour, which is extremely competitive for the quality, speed and professional level of service we provide compared to the rest of the industry. Don’t forget, we always give you quote before starting any project, so you know what to expect.
